This is honestly one of my top favorite movies of all time. I feel like the people who don't love it don't have the appreciation for what an incredible movie this is. Yes, its very graphic, lots of nudity and sex, lots of drugs and violence. But, that's all part of it.

I am very picky with movies and I have to REALLY love a movie to sit through it if it is long. With this movie, it doesn't even feel long to me every single time I watch it (at least 5 times by now!). I think the movie is interesting and capturing from start to finish.

Feb 5, 2018 - Many may know Jordan from Martin Scorsese's film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” but he really became a legend when he founded one of the most. In 1987, Jordan Belfort procures a job as a Wall Street stockbroker for L.F. Rothschild, employed under Mark Hanna, who quickly entices him with the sex and drugs fueled stockbroker culture and passes on his idea that a stockbroker's only goal is to make money for himself.

Scorsese and DiCaprio did an amazing job. We enjoyed this movie even though is it unusually long. Understanding that the movie was based on true events, it was scary how much money and power these people accumulated in such a short time. The excesses got a little sickening as the movie wore on. It was easy to dislike DiCaprio's character and all his rich, powerful friends.

Arrogance, greed, and a simple lack of caring about others made rooting against these guys easy. What's concerning is that banks today are issuing the equivalent of CDOs, just with different names. Scorsese told Charlie Rose the movie was so long because it took him that long to tell the story. And quite a story it is. If the viewer doesn't mind spending 3 hours with people who make one's skin crawl, this is one for the ages. Money, power, sex, Ferraris, all the accoutrements of the domains of undisciplined hedonism to which our paradigms of personal value are vulnerable: that's the Wolf of Wall St.

This movie depicts that Wolf in all its gory, naked, addicted glory. 60 years ago all this would've been considered decadent and evidence of the decline of civilization. Today, it's just another pseudo-pornographic walk in the park. I enjoyed this movie for all the base reasons. Why indict the Wolf? Let's give him his disguise of heroism, let's make him into an international business star. Mercury, the god of merchants and cross roads, was after all also the god of thieves.

It's easy enough to see what the Wolf stole from others. Question is, what does this movie steal from us? You'll have to watch to find out. Entertaining and over-the-top, the Wolf of Wall Street gives an eyebrow-raising glimpse at Wall Street excess. As usual, Scorsese and DiCaprio are great together. I usually judge how good a movie is by how often I think about it afterwards.

Bad or throwaway movies are wiped from memory the next morning. This movie, however, stuck with me for days - and not just because it was raunchy, drug-filled and full of obscenities (although that didn't hurt, heh). The acting all-around is superb: DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Cristin Milioti, everyone. And there are scenes that just bristle with energy and reality: Jordan trying to bribe Agent Denham on his yacht, for example, or a doped-up Jordan struggling to get into his car to drive home. Even at three hours long, there is hardly a wasted line or unneeded scene. Jonah Hill is the strange secret weapon of this film.

WOWS got a lot of attention by the academy of arts and science in 2014 for its epic quality drama and the larger than life adaptation of a real Wall Street con-artist and his conspicuous consumption based on a true story. Leonardo DiCaprio is wonderful at bringing real characters to life on the big screen. In The Aviator, he became Howard Hughes. In Catch Me if You Can, he became Frank Abagnale. In TWOW, he becomes real time criminal, Jordan Belfort.

There is this one scene that stands out to me: he is on his yacht off the coast of France and he tells his best friend and drug dealer, Jonah Hill, that he cannot and will not die while being sober. They are stuck in what appears to be a deadly squall. Jonah Hill goes to get him his drugs.and suddenly everything is okay again. Director Martin Scorsese seamlessly blends the danger and depravity of Jordan Belfort's life with his own unique vision of how an American criminal gets from his auspicious beginnings through to the inevitable finish line: prison. Might be my favorite Scorsese movie ever. I have seen this film over 10 times in its entirety, so well done.

The characters, the music, Scorsese takes you right back in time through perfectly planned costuming, sets, music. The first time I sat through this, I thought it was way over the top. After seeing it again, you really see the brilliance of DiCaprio as the bigger than life snake oil salesman that is Jordan Belfort off the top of my head, the scene with matthew mcconaughey is so well done 'You got to feed the geese.
